Frequently asked questions
Enabling Tables in Back Office
To start customizing and using the table layout on your POS, the Tables feature must be enabled in Back Office.
The Tables feature is not compatible when combined with the Group Ordering feature. Using both on the same site may lead to issues, particularly with order printing.
To enable Tables in Back Office:
- Log in to Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
- From the navigation menu, select Features.
- Search for and select Tables.
- Click Enable.
Customizing your table layout
Once the Tables feature is enabled, you can configure your floor plan to reflect your venue's actual layout. Use the built-in layout editor on the POS to add, move, and edit tables, chairs, flooring, and sections.
To customize your table layout:
- On the POS, select Tables.
- The default table layout will appear. Select Edit to start customizing your floor plan.
- A dialog box will appear confirming that you're about to enter editing mode. Select OK to proceed.
Use the layout editor in Lightspeed Restaurant to tailor your floor plan to match your venue's real setup. Below are some common customization tasks and how to complete them:
- Change table shape: Delete the existing default table and add a new one in your desired shape, such as circle, square, or rectangle.
- Change the table number: Select the table and edit the number in the dialog box that appears.
-
Add flooring: Drag a floor design onto the canvas and resize as needed. Even if you drag it over other items, it will automatically be underneath them.
-
Resize a table or other items: Resize tables, structures, and floor designs by hovering over the edge of the item. When the resize cursor appears, click and drag to adjust to the desired size.
-
Turn a chair around: Choose from four chair orientations in the menu. Once a chair is placed on the canvas, click it to rotate counterclockwise and adjust its direction.
-
Hide a section or change section names: Click the cogwheel icon to open settings. To rename a section, enter the new name in the Section Name field. To hide a section, toggle the switch next to the section name to No, then click Save.
