Enabling Guest Tracking
Before you can use Guest Tracking on the POS, you must first enable the feature in Back Office. This can be enabled by users with the admin or the manually enabled sites permissions.
To enable Guest Tracking:
- Log in to Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
- From the navigation menu, select Features.
- Search for and select Guest Tracking.
- Click Enable.
Using Guest Tracking on the POS
Guest Tracking can be used on the POS through the Tables feature or by entering the number of guests in the Notes section. You can update the number of guests at any time until the order is paid and checked out.
Entering the number of guests using Tables
When the Tables feature is enabled, the staff is prompted to enter the number of guests whenever a table is selected for an order.
To add the number of guests using Tables:
- On the POS, select Tables.
- Enter the number of guests, then tap OK.
Entering the number of guests using Note
You can enter the number of guests using the Notes section if the Tables feature is not enabled. This allows you to record guest count directly in the order which also reflects in the Guests report.
To add the number of guests using Note:
- On the POS, tap Note.
- In the Add Note popup, tap the field that displays the default number 0 Guests.
- Enter the number of guests, then tap OK.
Accessing the Guests report
The Guests report allows you to generate reports on average spend per guest and see sales including sales with guests and sales without guests.
To access the Guests report:
- From the Back Office navigation menu, select Reports > Guests.
- (Optional) Click the filter dropdown to filter and search results by time period, site, or register. Here, you can see the following:
- Busiest Day: The day with the highest number of guests or sales activity within your selected period.
- Quietest Day: The day with the lowest number of guests or sales activity within your selected period.
- Date: The specific day the guest and sales data is recorded for.
- Guest Count: The total number of guests recorded across all transactions.
- Number of Sales without Guests: Transactions where no guest count was entered.
- Number of Sales with Guests: Transactions where a guest count was recorded.
- Avg Guest Per Sale: The average number of guests per transaction where guest data is available.
- Total: The total value of all sales within your selected period.
