Register-specific printing offers advanced control over your printing setup by allowing different rules and settings for each register. This is ideal for setups with multiple service points or Bluetooth printers tied to individual registers.
To set up register-specific printing, you'll need to enable the Advanced Printing feature and be on the Extend plan. Check your plan by navigating to the subscriptions tab in Back Office.

Enabling Advanced Printing
Before setting up printing for individual registers, enable Advanced Printing in Back Office. Once enabled, users with admin or sites permission can configure register-specific printer settings.
To enable Advanced Printing:
- Log in to Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
- From the navigation menu, select Features.
- Search for and select Advanced Printing.
- Click Enable.
Configuring register-specific settings
Before configuring register-specific settings, ensure that printers are properly set up. To configure general printing settings for a site, refer to our guide on configuring production printing.
To set up register-specific settings:
- From the navigation menu, select My site > Printers.
- Under Register Printer Settings, click the cogwheel icon (settings) to the right of the register you'd like to configure.
- Under the Printer Settings, configure the following:
- Printing Method: Select the printing method based on the devices that you have.
- Receipt Printer: Assign a printer used to print customer receipts.

Cash Drawer: Select the printer name where the cash drawer is connected to.
- Under Production Printer Settings, configure the following:
- Printing Configuration: Select Use Register Configuration.
- Production Printing Method: Select the production printing method that matches the site's overall printing setup.
- (Optional) Intelligent Printer IP Address: This field only appears if you select Intelligent Print Server in the Production Printing Method field. Enter the configured IP address of your intelligent printer.
- Production Printing: Choose between sending all items to all printers or assigning specific items to specific printers.
- Click Save settings.
- (Optional) If you've selected Printer/Item specific under Production printing, configure the products assigned to each printer for this register.
- Manually sync the POS or sync registers from Back Office.
