With an integrated EFTPOS terminal, you may at times wonder where your customers need to sign for their credit card purchases, where they can enter a tip or, where the EFTPOS receipt will print. These settings will answer those questions.

Before you begin

Before you change these settings, you will want to make sure that you have either Lightspeed Payments or your third party EFTPOS integration set up and configured.

You can find these settings under the settings for each register profile on the Registers page of the back office.

Our guide on Register Settings also covers these settings and the other possible advanced settings available.

Signature, Tipping and Merchant Copy

Note: These settings are more relevant for third party integrations.
Lightspeed Payments will always print the merchant copy to the POS receipt, and will not request a signature on the screen.

Tip & Sign on Screen Tip & Sign on Payment Device Tip & Sign on Receipt Don't do anything
Signatures and Tipping will prompt on the Lightspeed Screen and then print to your POS receipt printer

Note: For Lightspeed Payments the POS will not request a signature.
Please also be aware this function can conflict with "On Terminal" tipping where the customer is asked to tip directly on the payment device.
Your Signatures and Tipping are handled by your EFTPOS device.

Note: For Lightspeed Payments this will fall-back to the 'On Screen' method even if your terminal has an integrated printer.
"On Terminal" tipping should be enabled if you want the user to be prompted for a tip.
Your Signatures and Tipping are printed on your POS receipt printer, integrated with the tax invoice from that printer.

A merchant copy is also printed.

No merchant copy is printed

Note: For Lightspeed Payments this will fall-back to the 'On Screen' method.
