Purchase order reminders help you manage your inventory by scheduling timely notifications to restock your items. This ensures you can place a purchase order before your stock runs low.
To automate ordering from your regular suppliers, refer to our guide on setting up recurring purchase orders.

Scheduling order reminders
To schedule order reminders, you must enable Purchase and have your supplier details added in the Back Office. Order reminder notifications can be sent to multiple email addresses, and the site owner is always automatically included as the recipient.
To schedule order reminders:
- Log in to Lightspeed Purchase using your Back Office credentials.
- From the navigation menu, select Order reminders > New reminder.
- Select your supplier.
- On the Set reminder screen, enter the following details:
- Email reminder to: Enter the email addresses of the people who should receive the reminder.
- Reminder name: Enter a name for the order reminder. This can be the supplier name or the stock item name to make it easy to identify when creating a purchase order.
- Repeat on: Select the days of the week when the reminder should be sent.
- Send reminder at: Select the time of the day the reminder should be sent.
- Starts on: Select the start date for this order reminder.
- Repeat every: Select how often the reminder should repeat on selected days. This could be weekly, every 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or 4 weeks.
- Click Save reminder.
Deleting order reminders
An order reminder can be deleted if it's no longer needed. However, if you want to just pause or delay the order reminder instead of removing it entirely, you can modify the start date to hold off when notifications begin.
To delete an order reminder:
- From the Purchase navigation menu, select Order reminders.
- Select the order reminder you want to delete.
- Click the ellipsis (menu).
- Click Delete template > Delete Order.
