Troubleshooting
Charging your barcode scanner
To ensure your SocketScan S700 is ready for use, start by charging the scanner. Fully charge your barcode scanner for six hours before using it for the first time.
To charge your barcode scanner:
- Connect one end of the charging cable to the power port on the right side of the barcode scanner.
- Connect the other end of the charging cable to an AC power supply. Connecting it to a computer's USB port is not recommended.
- Connect the AC Power Supply to a power outlet. The barcode scanner's battery light, located at the top left of the scan button, turns amber while charging. Once fully charged, the light changes to green.

Troubleshooting

If you're having trouble pairing your scanner, a factory reset can often resolve the issue. Resetting the scanner restores it to its default settings, clearing any previous pairings or configuration conflicts. There are two ways to perform a factory reset.
Automatic Factory Reset
Scan the barcode below. The scanner will power off after scanning.
Manual Factory Reset
- Power on the barcode scanner.
- Press and hold the Scan button.
- While holding down the Scan button, press the Power button once.
- Continue holding the Scan button for about 15 seconds until you hear a beep, then release it. The scanner will beep 5 times and power off.
- Pair the scanner with your iPad again.
